Stumbled upon this place as I was going to a work event. There was a long line on a rainy evening so that I was curious to see what it was all about. It looked pretty interesting and I was surprised to see it wasn't the usual halal guys with yellow umbrellas so I decided to go back post work event. Went back at approx 8:45pm and the line was half of what it was at 6pm. I waited for approx 10 mins until it was my turn. Speaking to regulars on the line, they said this was one of the nights they saw short lines. Perhaps because it was raining. I didn't know what to order as I've never been here before but ended with mixed chicken and lamb over rice and plain chicken, both with spicy rice and sauces on the side. Both were around $22 with tax and tip. Both plates were delicious. The chili is very hot so try a little bit first before tipping the rest in. Literally my mouth was on fire. The food heats up well on the next day too. The place takes both cash and card.

apparently this food truck always has at least a 1hr wait?!? i had to see if it was worth it. and OMG it was SO GOOD. i got lucky because i went right when it opened. but omg are adels' customers LOYAL. it started POURING RAIN, but no one budged in line. maybe like only 5 people left. but that line was still an hour long. lamb and chicken over rice - this was so good. the sauce was flavorful and the meats were so tender. i didn't add fries to mine, but you should definitely add it to yours. it was DELICIOUS. you can choose either regular rice or spicy rice. the spicy rice was not spicy at all. there's also a spicy sauce that's SUPER SPICY. so maybe ask for it on the side.

Stopped by after we watched a Broadway show. BOY was the line long. We were half way down the block and waited TWO HOURS. Granted, I've read enough reviews and expected the long wait, but I don't think I would do it again if I had to wait that long next time. I got the mix plate with spicy rice , my bf got the beef with spicy rice and we also got a side order of fries. I normally don't like lamb but you couldn't even taste it. 10/10 better than Halal guys. We did not finish everything and saved it for a late night snack for another night and it still tasted good. People grab their food, and either take it to go or eat close by where there's benches/ tables.

TLDR: Must try if you have the patience and time to wait for this food cart. Protein is packed with flavor, rice is extremely aromatic and they are very generous with their sauce This place has a very loyal audience as I came during a torrential downpour and still had to wait almost an hour for my food. There are two carts but only one line to wait on. You must wait on the main line to order. As you get closer to the front, you can possibly get called to the line for the second cart as it is quicker. The workers know who they called over so don't try to skip as you may end up spending even more time in line when they send you to the back. I ordered a mixed grill (lamb and chicken) over spicy rice with French fries, white sauce and BBQ sauce and a chicken over yellow rice with french fries, white sauce and a splash of red sauce. Everything was perfect. From the protein to rice ratio, sauce amount and flavor. Spicy rice was not spicy at all, it was more aromatic if anything. Chicken is extremely juicy and flavorful. Lamb could have been a little crispier but it did not have the taste that a lot of people dislike. This definitely takes the crown for best halal food in NYC.
